WHAT IS IT
we invite representatives of NGOs, historians, journalists and museum workers to start dialogue on memory culture and multiperspectivity, as well as to explore the newest methods and approaches in history work among colleagues from Germany, Poland, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine
WHAT WILL YOU GET
a unique opportunity to travel to memorial sites virtually, sensitize yourself to the best practices of multiperspective educational work, join workshops and discussions with outstanding experts, learn practical multimedia skills and establish a network of professional contacts with potential partners from Eastern Europe

Course activities - you will dive into an intensive week of guided tours, workshops and discussions to learn the new and the unknown

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
Language
Working languages are English and Russian. We expect you to be a fluent speaker of at least one (translation will be provided).
Cost
The course is completely free of charge - you do not have to pay any fee to participate.

Programme hours are 09:00-13:30 (UTC+1) - participants are expected to be online during all course activities.

30 November - Monday
Welcome and introduction
Brief presentations of participants, group work, networking exercises, discussion on common European remembrance culture and excursion into German memory culture
1 December - Tuesday
Remembering WW2 in Russia
Lecture about Russian public initiatives commemorating World War Two pursuing different policies (not only official history), interactive workshop on digital formats (podcasts, videos, cartoons, comics)
2 December - Wednesday
Virtual Tour around Trostenets
Virtual excursion into Trostenets Memorial (Minsk, Belarus), discussion on modern interpretations of violence in Belarus, workshop on digital ways of preserving memory about WW2 in Brest (archives, databases, apps, storytelling)
3 December - Thursday
Virtual Tour around Babyj Yar
Virtual excursion into Babyj Yar memorial site (Kyiv, Ukraine), discussion on memory places between digital and classical forms, workshop about oral history in the times of digitalisation
4 December - Friday
Memory in Poland & Germany
Workshop on how to prepare an exhibition on WW2 (message and tools), guided tour around Witold Pilecki exhibition and European Solidarity Center, discussion about solidarity as an international phenomenon, pitching of participants
